MONITORING OF THE DPPHSS PROJECT CONDUCTED BY ERASMUS NATIONAL AGENCY OF ARMENIA

On January 15, 2020 at the premises of the Yerevan State Medical University the monitoring visit of the DPPHSS Project was carried out. The representatives of the Erasmus+ Office in Armenia met with the staff members of the universities involved in the project and discussed the project implementation from the perspective of institutions involved. According to the results of the monitoring, in spite of the initial delays, the project has already advanced in the relevant work packages and deliverables. The main goal of the “Doctoral Programmes in Public Health and Social Sciences”  project  (afterwards: Project) considers establishing new PhD programs in public health and social work education systems in partner countries. For that purpose meetings with stakeholders were organized in Armenia during the period from September to November, 2019. From November 11 to 15, 2019 workshop on Biostatistics was held within the “Doctoral Programs in Public Health and Social Services” Erasmus Project. The workshop was hosted by the Gothenburg University, which is one of the partner universities involved in the Project. The workshop was attended by the representatives of beneficiary universities, like Yerevan State Medical University, Yerevan State University, Tbilisi State University and University of Georgia are. In November 4; 5 an international conference on “Social Work and Current Agenda of Dignified Social Policy in Armenia” was held at Yerevan State University (Consortium member of the “Doctoral Programmes in Public Health and Social Sciences” Erasmus Project). As part of monitoring Erasmus + activities, a monitoring visit of the CBHE “DPPHSS” project took place in Georgia on 7th of November, 2019. Coordinator of the Erasmus + Office in Tbilisi carried out the visit. She met with the project representatives from partner universities in Georgia and discussed the project implementation from the perspective of the institutions involved. MEETING OF ARMENIAN PARTNERS AT YEREVAN STATE UNIVERSITY

Armenian partners of the “Doctoral Programmes in Public Health and Social Science (DPPHSS)” Project from Yerevan State Medical University and Yerevan State University had a meeting in June for discussing their future steps on the further implementation of the project and forthcoming events within the Project. The meeting was especially aimed at discussing the PhD program establishment and accreditation issues in the partner universities based on the legal regulations of the country and internal rules defined by the universities.

“TRAINING RESEARCH SKILLS”, BABES BOLYAI UNIVERSITY

Since July 2nd to 5th first trainings  were held within the “Doctoral Programmes in Public Health and Social Science (DPPHSS)” Project /No: 597977-EPP-1-2018-1-AM-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP/. The trainings were devoted to the development of the research skills of the partner universities’ representatives. They also had an aim to introduce the PhD structure in Romania, particularly at the University of Babes Bolyai, which is a consortium member of the Project. On April 23, Erasmus + National Office of Georgia hosted cluster monitoring meeting at the Tbilisi State Medical University, aiming at discussing impact of EU funded projects on medical education. HEI representatives from Tbilisi, Kutaisi and Telavi attended this meeting. The event also attended the representatives of EU Delegation and the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement.
